BRANDING

a case study: Heritage Gun Books

Project Overview

When Robynn Kuhnhausen Browne reached out to us with a rebranding project, we jumped at the chance to help. She had decided to honor the legacy of her late parents and continue running their business, Heritage Gun Books, which publishes and distributes the world’s finest gunsmithing and gun repair shop manuals – each written and illustrated by her father Jerry Kuhnhausen.

Our goal was to create a logo that complimented his original vision, while giving it an updated look. We refreshed the fonts and incorporated Jerry’s initials into an icon that evokes the “Heritage” spirit. Once the brand was established, we designed and developed a responsive eCommerce website that is easy to navigate and visually appealing, using imagery showcasing the pistols, revolvers, and rifles that are the subjects of the books. Although the primary focus of their business is wholesale, Robynn wanted to offer online sales to individual gun owners who visit the site. We integrated a discrete shopping feature and trained her team on how to administer the backend of the site to manage orders.

After the site launched, we designed dealer sales materials and ads, both digital and print. As well as placed and managed digital ad campaigns.
